Re:       Transmittal of CARPO research report: "The Geographic Scope of Connecticut's Regional Planning"

The Connecticut Association of Regional Planning Organizations (CARPO) is a coordinating body for regional planning issues within Connecticut, which promotes the concept of regional planning in cooperation with local units of government and the state.

Our organization has recently completed the attached report concerned with revised boundary definitions for regional planning organizations. Our intent is to provide background information useful to the upcoming reassessment of

regional boundaries as required by State Statute 16a-4c.

This research overviews past regional boundary discussions and especially those state agency sub-state districting decisions relating to regional planning. We also recommend herein various data sets for use in the upcoming

review.

You are invited to contact your regional planning agency director listed in the back of the report with questions or comments. Or you may contact me directly at 860-456-2221, email director@wincog.org.
