1.  Call to Order: Chairman Mike Pace convened the meeting 9:35 a.m. in the CRERPA Conference Room in Old Saybrook CT, following the CREMPO meeting.

2.  Minutes:  Cabral moved and Miller seconded a motion to approve the October meeting minutes.  All were in favor.

4.  HHW/Electronics Recycling: Janice Ehle/Meyer updated the group on waste collection matters.

Participation in this season’s collection was almost double that of last year.  This was attributed to both Amy Cabaniss’ study project and publicity through town newsletters.  There is concern that the site may be reaching its capacity for traffic management.  Stacking space for cars waiting in line is being fully utilized.  Ehle/Meyer and Ralph Eno attended a hearing on electronics recycling at DEP on October 26.  Eno was one of very few speakers.  He talked about waiving local permit fees and the need to encourage regional efforts.  It was reported that CRRA take plastics coded one through seven in the Spring.

5. Support for Community Garden funding application:  Ehle/Meyer asked the members of the LCVSA to write a letter supporting CRERPA’s application for funds to enlarge the regional community garden in Essex.  The grant sees funds from the Department of Agriculture for improvements at the site.  Cabral moved and Miller seconded a motion to send a letter of support.  All were in favor.

6. Future Agenda Topics: It was agreed that it would be worthwhile to identify issues that the group wants to address in the future.  Noel Bishop suggested that be the principal topic of discussion at the next meeting.  Pace stated that fiscal issues should have top priority in the coming year.

7. Special CRVCEO Meeting scheduled:  Krause reported that, at their October meeting, the CRVCEO agreed to combine the November and December meetings into a single meeting on December 2, in Deep River.  Dick Smith will make arrangements for lunch.  The agenda will focus on the issue of regionalism with the hope of deciding on a future course of action concerning the CRVCEO.  Krause was asked to prepare a summary of options.

8.  Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned by consensus at 9:50 am.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Krause, Clerk
