Jean Davies read the call of the meeting which had been distributed on April 11, 2007 and published in both the Hartford Courant and the Pictorial Gazette. The final draft of the Proposed 2007-2035 Regional Transportation Plan for the Connecticut River Estuary Region has been posted on the web site of the Connecticut River Estuary Metropolitan Planning Organization and the website of the Connecticut River Estuary Regional Planning Agency. A hard copy of the plan has been sent to each town.
Jean reported that two suggestions were received. The changes were incorporated into the plan. In Old Saybrook, the Stage Road intersection with the Boston Post Road has been designated as a high accident area. The propose work has therefore been moved from 2011 to 2008. Also in Old Saybrook, under rail on page 46, the need for additional parking and improved access for the Old Saybrook train station has been added.
There being no other comments or proposals forthcoming, Bill Peace moved that the Public Hearing be adjourned. The hearing was adjourned at 8:39 AM.
